Helping Children Heal from Sexual Abuse is a Free, virtual Parent Support Group for adoptive, foster, or kinship families raising children who have previously suffered sexual abuses.

Belonging is a universal human need, yet many older adults face isolation, cultural disconnection, or barriers to fully participating in their communities. For professionals working with diverse older populations, creating a sense of belonging means recognizing unique cultural values, traditions and perspectives, and weaving them into the care experience.

This webinar will explore how to foster inclusion and belonging for older adults from varied cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds. Participants will learn practical ways to honor cultural identity, reduce barriers to engagement, and support community connections that promote dignity and well-being in later life.

For nearly four decades, the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York’s annual statewide conference has provided an opportunity for foster/kinship care/adoptive parents to be inspired, network and learn about the latest in the field. Aimed at parents and professionals alike, the conference brings leaders in the child welfare field to New York and offers a variety of topical workshops designed to deepen the knowledge of attendees, help to form connections with other parents and professionals and give attendees tools they can bring home and share in their community. Nationally known plenary speakers and workshop presenters share their knowledge and expertise to help participants gain perspective, increase skills, and learn to appreciate the positives.

Geographic isolation, limited provider availability, and distinct cultural norms can make these communities harder to engage, especially when using traditional service delivery models. Join us as we examine barriers to program development and delivery and highlight creative strategies for building community-responsive post-permanency supports that reflect the unique realities of rural families.

The Meet the Model series from the Post-Adoption Center introduces the core components of the Post-Permanency Model, designed to guide states, tribal nations and territories in delivering coordinated services to adoptive and guardianship families. The model is outlined in detail in the Post-Adoption Center’s Program Manual, which services as the blueprint for building comprehensive, community centered and accessible post-permanency services. We break down the 253-page manual into smaller pieces. This session focuses on the 24-Hour Phone Support Component.

Establishing Boundaries with Family Caregivers: An Ethical Discussion. Presenter: Stephanie Goldstein LBSW. Boundaries are the invisible line between the patient/ family and the healthcare provider. It is critical to establish boundaries early, reinforce them often, and know if and when to make an exception. How do we balance offering empathic clinical services while maintaining professional appropriate boundaries? Join us for practical talk on how to improve your boundary skills with family caregivers of older adults as a clinician and manager.

CCAW is an annual in-person conference that convenes the leading experts from across the country to educate and train first responders and community stakeholders on best practices regarding the identification, investigation and prosecution of crimes against women.
