The Waterfront Project is a nonprofit legal services center that provides free civil legal representation, assistance and advocacy to Northern New Jersey residents who are asset-limited, income-constrained, homeless, or disenfranchised.
Individuals and households at risk of homelessness in Hudson, Union and Bergen Counties.
• Eviction Defense: Protecting tenants’ rights and preventing displacement.
• Foreclosure Prevention: Assisting struggling homeowners to keep their homes.
• Housing Counseling: Offering guidance and support for various housing issues.
• The Survivor Project: Providing legal advocacy for survivors navigating legal systems.
WFP staff are available to provide free housing counseling and legal services to residents facing issues with their landlords and with specific other civil (not criminal) legal issues
