I advocate to assist families with respect to all areas of students' educational needs, with an emphasis on special needs students. I guide parents through the educational process, assist in developing an appropriate educational plan or 504 plan, connect parents with appropriate professionals and support services and attend school meetings.
Special Needs and emotional/behavioral/attachment problems
My experiences as the mother of two adopted children with educational and emotional disabilities. has provided and continues to provide me with insight into the challenges children who are adopted encounter in school. In addition, my background as an attorney representing parents and their children in special education matters, negotiating complex corporate transactions and mediating civil actions has enabled me to develop the skills and expertise necessary to advocate for them.
