Researchers say there’s a strong link between animal abuse and child abuse: People who commit one are highly likely to commit the other. Because that’s the case, animal welfare officers should be keeping an eye peeled for mistreated children and case workers should look out for neglected and abused pets, argues state Rep. Joseph Petrarca.
