Wounded Children Healing Homes

Adoption is a beautiful way to build a family.  However, while adoption is healthy and normal, circumstances may arise that challenge the growing relationship between adoptive parent and child.  These circumstances can and do have a great impact on the adoptive family they cannot be ignored.  Families who are aware of the issues they will face, who come realistically to the adoption of an abused, traumatized child, will be successful.  They will remain emotionally healthy and able to provide a nurturing family for that child.  However, families who come unprepared to the adoption of a wounded child will be broadsided by shattered expectations.  The prospect for this family is clouded and uncertain.
