Getting Started on Adoption:

  • Severson, Randolph W., Ph.D.

Randolph Severson is widely known for his unique ability to express the emotions and human depth of the adoption experience. Describing his approach as ‘spiritual existentialism,’ he has authored more than a dozen books and booklets on adoption and other child and family issues. In 1995 he received the prestigious Baran and Pannor Award for excellence in adoption. A former adoption agency psychologist and administrator, he is now in private practice in the Dallas area.
“What’s an adoptive family made of, if not biology and genes? Heart and soul can be the only answer and the more heart and soul you bring to the process, the better off you and your family will be.” Randolph Severson, author
