Faces of Adoption

  • Giddens, Lynn

“Faces of Adoption” attempts to examine these and other relevant questions related to the adoption process. Contributions from adoptees, birthparents, adoptive parents, professionals and others are included. 1. What motivates an adoptee to search? 2. Is adoption a single event occurring in one’s life or an on-going process? 3. Have the majority of birthparents “forgotten” their relinquished children as they have often been instructed to do? 4. Are professionals and adoptive parents now changing their views regarding openness in adoptions?
