International: RGG Special Report: Central America’s Northern Triangle: Home Sweet Home
Rio Grande Guardian – November 09, 2016
Tens of thousands of Salvadorans, Guatemalans, and Hondurans, many of them unaccompanied minors, have arrived in the United States in recent years, seeking asylum from their region’s skyrocketing violence. Their countries form a region called the Northern Triangle. Civil wars in the 1980s left the region with a legacy of violence and fragile institutions. Gangs and organized crime have taken over. It is an international crisis.
