When someone dies by suicide it’s always a tragic event, not just the individual but also for families and the community at large. Suicide impacts middle aged and older adults die by suicide more than any other age group. This program will cover causes, risk factors, and best practices for screening and preventing suicide in the older adult. Also addressed will be the very real phenomenon of suicide contagion and when high-profile stories and media events can contribute to risk. Jenerations Health Education, #1494, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
