Rainbows is a support group for children who have suffered significant loss in their lives, either through death, divorce, or other painful transitions. The aim of Rainbows is to implant in these children a belief in their own goodness, in a safe and secure environment. Rainbows is not counseling or therapy for children. It is strictly a peer support group, guided by caring, trained adults.
Children are encouraged to express their feelings and are assisted in handling their grieving and adjustment process. They learn that there are many other children who, like them, are dealing with the trauma of loss.
A PARENT INFORMATION SESSION RUNS AT THE SAME TIME. THIS PROGRAM IS OPTIONAL AND FREE OF CHARGE.
