Medicare and Employer Coverage June 26, 2025

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

One of the most common questions we receive at the Medicare Rights Center is around Medicare and employer-sponsored health insurance. If you’re still working when you turn 65, do you need to enroll in Medicare? Or can you just keep your employer health coverage and enroll in Medicare later?

These may seem like straight-forward questions, but their answers depend on a variety of factors. And misunderstanding this topic can lead to late enrollment penalties, gaps in coverage, and unexpected health care costs. Join us for this Medicare Minute to learn about Medicare and employer coverage.

Join the Medicare Rights Center’s free, monthly Medicare Minute presentations on Medicare Interactive. Each month’s Medicare Minute will help you learn more about your benefits and make the most of your Medicare coverage.
