Lived Experience of Racial Trauma in the AANHPI Community and What is Radical Healing? March 20, 2024

Print Friendly, PDF & Email
Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) are often excluded from the discourse of racial trauma. However, considering the pervasive anti-Asian hate/violence that has gained momentum since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can no longer ignore AANHPI’s lived experiences of racialized oppression. The AANHPI HEART study sought to understand AANHPI’s experiences of racial trauma using quantitative and qualitative methods. Also, the study examined how AANHPIs responded to racial trauma using a radical healing framework. Findings will support the recognition and awareness of racial trauma in AANHPIs.
