FYI: A Conversation with Child Welfare Agency Staff about HUD’s Foster Youth to Independence Initiative December 05, 2020

Print Friendly, PDF & Email
Please join us for a thorough overview of HUD’s new Foster Youth to Independence Initiative (FYI) intended for child welfare practitioners, advocates, and attorneys. Panelists will facilitate a conversation about the services and experiences that youth should have during their child welfare placements to help the move towards housing success and economic independence. Youth in foster care have access to a range of tools to prepare them for adulthood. The panel will discuss the best way to use that time in care to determine if FYI is a good option for youth and how best to prepare them to be successful in the program. This event will also offer insight into building partnerships with existing community-based providers that can help child welfare agencies meet the services requirements for HUD’s FYI Initiative.
