Ethical Issues in Schools November 14, 2024

This webinar will examine current ethical issues facing school social workers, guidance counselors, and teachers. Topics to be included are alcohol and substance abuse, eating disorders, mental health issues, confidentiality, risk and resiliency, and strategies for dealing with parents and administrators. The workshop will also explore how helping professionals in schools can help families access help for their children while maintaining ethical boundaries. Specific case examples will be discussed, including rights of non-custodial parents and students who are 18 years old but still under parental care.
