This webinar will cover high-level policy information and descriptions of the newly passed ABA Resolution 605 aimed at challenging Troubled Teen Industry/Congregate Care placements, while delivering real-world trial skills and practice tips from dependency attorneys and lived experience experts. Learners will gain a better understanding of the policies that drive children into congregate care, the harms of such placements, and how attorneys for youth can advocate on behalf of our most vulnerable children. Attendees will also see how congregate care placements perpetuate the institutionalization of people of color in the child welfare-to-prison pipeline and further exacerbate generational trauma of historically excluded populations.
