American Geriatrics Society (AGS) DC Chapter: Embodied Labs January 17, 2024

Susy Elder Murphy (owner) and Teresa Boring (Director of Care Management) from Aging Well Eldercare are very excited about presenting a unique program to the AGS community, through their subscription to Embodied Labs. Embodied Labs uses virtual reality technology enabling the users to see and hear the world through the eyes of a person living with Alzheimer’s. We will guide you as you embody Beatriz, a middle-aged Latina woman as progressive Alzheimer’s Disease causes changes in her brain. From the onset of symptoms to late stage disease and the transition to residential care, you will understand in a new way, the profound effect Alzheimer’s has on daily life, from processing and cognition to relationships and emotional wellbeing. After each stage (early, middle, late) we will pause the experience for discussion and to help everyone process what they are seeing, hearing and feeling. We are looking forward to starting the New Year with this unique virtual experience!
