Advocating for Long-Term Care Facility Residents in 2025: Repelling Attacks and Moving Forward June 04, 2025

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The first months of 2025 have brought unprecedented stress and uncertainty to the nation’s system of long-term services and supports (LTSS). The national-level threats include potentially devasting cuts to the Medicaid program, legal and legislative attacks on the federal nursing facility staffing minimums, and planned elimination of the Administration for Community Living. But amidst these long-term threats, advocates continue of course to assist current LTC facility residents.

This webinar will focus on nursing facilities and assisted living facilities and provide advocates with information on the national-level threats to the long-term services and supports (LTSS) system, along with information relevant to day-to-day advocacy. Among other things, the session will discuss recent federal nursing facility guidance on medication administration and admission agreements, along with states’ obligations to develop grievance systems for Medicaid Home-and-Community Based Services (HCBS) recipients.
